Sego Restaurant
A Quiet Shelters must go to for the foodies! It is one of our mandatory dinners when we are in Kanab. Being award winning Chef Shon Foster's flagship restaurant, Sego offers unique flavor profiles and innovative cocktails. Some of our favorite dishes are the forged mushroom and artichoke toast, the beet salad, and fried rice. We recommend booking your reservation in advance if you would like a table at this culinary experience in Kanab!
Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen
Another Quiet Shelters favorite for patio dining and kick back atmosphere. Peekaboo Canyon wood fired kitchen is a vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurant in Kanab with creative wood-fired pizzas, burgers, and salads. Our favorites include the the Southwest Salad and the Fuhgeddaboudit pizza.
Wild Thyme Cafe
Wild Thyme Cafe focuses on organic ingredients from on-site gardens and a local greenhouse. They offer craft recipes with high quality beef, fish and chicken dishes, including vegan and vegetarian options. Its hard to pick a favorite off their menu but our go-tos are the tropical piggy and the salmon. Wild Thyme is a popular choice for gourmet dishes in a casual setting
Rocking V Cafe
Another local favorite with a dash of menu humor. With great flavorful ingredients and eclectic vibes we really feel their mission statement says it best. "We set out to create a fun place to eat great food, served by really friendly people, in a relaxifying atmosphere, surrounded by cool art & good music. Simple. There’s a reason we don’t have WiFi. Chill. Exhale. Sit. Listen. Look around. Power down. Kill the phone. Stow the tablet. Talk to the people you’re dining with. Talk to the people sitting next to you. Enjoy your meal. Don’t rush. (Unless you’ve been at the table for three hours, then you need to: eat it & beat it!"
Iron Horse
It took me almost 2 years to get to the Iron Horse. And when I finally did I sat for 3 hours in their western themed relaxed patio setting with a friend over beers. The Iron Horse is where you go to maintain that old pioneer town feel with comfort food.
The Buckskin Tavern
The Buckskin Tavern, an iconic local bar in Fredonia, Arizona 10 min from Kanab and boasts ‘the longest bar in Arizona’'. After a fresh update to the classic ‘dive bar’ built in 1934 by a local family, the new owners have brought The Buckskin Tavern into the 21st century while keeping the original mystique and charm that has drawn patrons for close to 100 years. There is often live music on the weekends.
Brown Box Bakeshop
Brown box is a cute local cafe with, soup of the day, grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade ice cream and baked goods. Our favorite sandwich is the the popper! Its an easy place to grab a light lunch on the way to the trails.
Sunny Creek Coffee
If you are looking for a casual breakfast or lunch sandwich Sunny Creek has got your back. With two locations, one a food truck and the other in the Kanab Outfitters Post, I often get the Sodbuster Sandwich and a black iced tea for lunch when I'm out and about town. This is a woman owned and operated family business and they take care when preparing meals, so give yourself a wee bit of time to peruse the outfitters shop while you wait for your order.
Escobar's Mexican Restaurant
Always packed and always a hit, Escobar’s is the popular Mexican restaurant in Kanab owned by Rosa and Leo. With passed down family recipes their Chile Rellenos, chimichangas, enchiladas, and carne asada are delicious.
Asava Juice & Smoothies
After a long hike there is nothing better than a small batch, cold pressed, organic smoothie. We love this local gem which focuses on health, wellness and detox. The best part is you can also turn their smoothies into a bowl with gluten free granola and toppings of choice.
Coyote Sky Tacos
We welcome with open arms this new food truck in town. Coyote Sky Tacos is a plant-based food truck with yummy street style tacos. With an array of flavors such as smokey sweet BBQ infused with mescal, you will need to follow along on social to see where these guys are parked in Kanab.
The Cave Cafe
Another great food truck located outside of a quirky historical cave. The Moqui Cave has quite the history and might as well be an Americana road side attraction on route 66 with its black lit rock collection and tchotchkes. The Cave Cafe serves grilled panini’s, smoothies and açaí bowls. The setting against the red rock cliffs make the lunch stop worth it.
Taro Coffee Bar
Your go-to walk up coffee and espresso bar. Open Thursday-Sunday 7:00-1:00pm.
Big Al's Burgers
The best classic hamburger joint in town. Big Al’s retro-style diner makes a perfect pit stop for diner style fries, burgers, and shakes.
Maharaja Indian Cuisine
A brand new Indian Cuisine restaurant located inside Kanab Tour Company open from 4-9pm. The butter sauce with homemade cheese is delicious, especially over the fluffy rice that comes with it. Garlic Naan is tasty, too.
